Richard Thieme

"I have followed the work of Mary Frantz for some time and have been more than impressed with her ardor and passion for her professional work and service to the community through the Prior Lake School Board.  A rare and far-reaching intellect fused with humane values and a belief in the free exchange of ideas characterize her life and work. She is accountable to the people she serves, listens closely to their concerns, and communicates with clarity. Her leadership in business matters, her value to clients, her sense of obligation to and responsibility for the communities she serves, all stand out. I cannot support her more enthusiastically for re-election to the Prior Lake School Board. Richard Thieme is recognized globally as an outstanding author and professional speaker who has keynoted security conferences in fifteen countries. His passion for education - he taught literature and writing at the University of Illinois and his work as an Episcopal clergyman for 16 years was widely acknowledged - spans many years. He has authored 13 books, most recently The Mobius Trilogy about the real work of intelligence professionals which has been acknowledged as top tier, ranked by a 21-year CIA veteran with John LeCarre, W. Somerset Maugham, and Graham Greene. His commitment to the quality of life in the MSP metro area is marked by numerous volunteer activities.

Alicia Perez, Prior Lake

"The candidate with the proven record that had made this district strong, for all."

Stan Stahl, PHD

I know Mary Frantz as a deeply principled and highly capable national security professional. Through her work in cybersecurity, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to "provide for the common defense." Her intellectual depth, her strategic acumen, and her unwavering sense of right and wrong make her a true asset to the country. Those who, like me, have the privilege of working with her know her as a "star" - an exceptional individual whose work and character represent the highest ideals of America. I'm incredibly grateful to Mary for all she does to "secure the blessings of liberty for ourselves and our posterity" and I'm proud to support her candidacy. Knowing Mary as I do, I'm befuddled as to why anyone would oppose her candidacy. Weird. Stan Stahl PhD. Founder / President, SecureTheVillage.

Chris Kubecka, CEO HypaSec

Why I, Chris Kubecka, Endorse Mary Frantz for School Board As someone who has dedicated my life to service, both in the military and beyond. I understand the importance of strong, ethical leadership, especially in times of crisis. My career has taken me from the U.S. Air Force to roles in global cybersecurity, including as the Distinguished Chair of the Cybersecurity and Emerging Technology Program at the Middle East Institute. My commitment to national security and helping others was recognized with The Order of Thor, and during my military service, I was honored with the Air and Space Outstanding Unit Award with an Oak Leaf Cluster for combat operations, and humanitarian relief efforts. But my service didn’t end when I left the military. Recently in Ukraine, I led efforts to evacuate thousands of people, including foreign students trapped in conflict zones, through a combination of intelligence and on-the-ground coordination. My work was covered in major media, where it was described as a life-saving operation during one of the most challenging periods in recent history. This is the kind of leadership that is required at every level of governance, including our local school boards. That’s why I am proud to endorse Mary Frantz for the school board. Mary embodies the principles of critical thinking, ethical decision-making, and inclusive leadership. Qualities which are essential for preparing our children for the future in a technological world. Mary’s opponents, some of whom leverage experience in the military, but I’ve seen first-hand that leadership is about more than just recruitment; it’s about taking action, making tough decisions, and always putting the well-being of others first. Whether it was in Ukraine, helping students escape a war zone, or in my work with the U.S. government, I’ve learned that true leadership requires both courage and compassion. Qualities that Mary Frantz possesses in abundance. Mary stands against the dangerous trend of banning books and limiting educational resources, claiming math curriculums are “indoctrinating” children - tactics our foreign enemies use to undermine the very foundation of our educational system, affecting our country's national defense. She believes, as I do, that education should be about empowering our children with the tools they need to think critically and solve problems in an increasingly complex world. As a woman with military experience, I understand the unique challenges we face and the importance of having leaders who not only understand those challenges but actively work to overcome them. Mary Frantz is that leader. She is committed to fostering an environment where every student, regardless of background, has the opportunity to succeed. In contrast, some of the opposing candidates represent movements that seeks to silence critical voices and limit educational opportunities, an approach that I fundamentally oppose – then they claim they are being bullied. Our children deserve a leader who for advocates for their future, not hinders it. I urge you to support Mary Frantz for the school board. Her vision for education, her commitment to critical thinking, and dedication to the community make her the best choice to lead our schools into a brighter, more inclusive future. Join me in voting for Mary Frantz, a leader who truly understands the importance of service, both in and out of uniform.

Becky Wrzosek (Koller), VP of Sales

Mary has the heart and passion for equipping the next generation of leaders. For anyone who has had their child mentored by this incredible lady, you know what I mean. Mary Frantz has been an immeasurable help with our students, especially through her stem outreach and her work encouraging young women to pursue fields in technology and computing. Many of our students have limited opportunities to learn about these STEM fields, but Mary has devoted her knowledge and her personal time to make sure that our students can not only learn about them, but have avenues to pursue relevant careers after high school. She has even mentored students each year to help them apply for scholarships in tech! Her work with our students creates real opportunities for them, and has been beyond valuable to our Bridges community.

I have known Mary Frantz for well over 10 years . I first became acquainted with Mary when I retained her as an expert witness , and over the years she became a trusted friend . Mary and I have had many conversations about the importance and value of an education , particularly of children . Her commitment to any endeavor that she has pursued is beyond being matched , and her energy is boundless . As the product of a public education , one that her son experienced , I have no doubt her service on the Board would benefit greatly the students , faculty and administrators and the public through her service. I recommend her without any reservation. John Yanchunis Department Lead Complex Litigation Morgan and Morgan

I met Mary during COVID and the beginning of online learning. I reached out for some help on a local mom’s group and Mary reached out to me.I was a complete stranger and she was so happy to help us navigate some of the challenges during that time. Mary is the kind of person who has every student and family’s best interest at heart. She is the kind of person we absolutely need to represent Prior Lake Savage area schools. Mary has my vote!

Brian Hughes

During Covid, Mary took it upon herself to build over 30 PCs and laptops for the students who did not have a device with a keyboard. She donated her company's licenses for Microsoft and Adobe and an antivirus program for one year with no strings attached. My son would not have been able to make it through the year without that computer. Mary Frantz never advertised what she did, who she did it for. She is a true servant leader that we are incredibly grateful to have in our community and on our board. I don't know the other families that received a device, I don't know if they know that device was personally built and paid for by Mary Frantz. I would ask for those that know, to please speak up. She is a rare find for our district - we don't want to lose her. Grateful Parent

Mary is a highly experienced and accomplished leader with both corporate and public service experience. She has done a great job, on the school board, asking the right questions and keeping the members accountable. She is also quite involved in the community, organizing various events to bring the community together. I endorse her 100% for the PLSAS school board, she will be a great addition.

Tanya Kramer Schaper

Mary is a proven leader in our district. Her depth of knowledge and understanding of school finance, state statutes and the day to day operations is second to none. Her experience is needed as we continue to move forward as a district. She continues to advocate for the needs of all learners.

Dr. Faisal Kaleem, Ph.D. Professor of Computer Scienc

Mary has tirelessly given her time and energy to provide educational support to our veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders. She has taught classes in technology, cyber security, provided job opportunities and mentored through our Cyber4Heros for the last few years. Her input and support have been invaluable to our ability to support those that have served and to our cybersecurity programs at Minnesota state and Metro State University. I strongly support her candidacy on the school board.

Jay and Ann Piper

Mary’s passion for quality education and her dedication to PLSAS students, staff and the community are what sets her apart. After completing all computer science classes offered at PLHS, our son contacted Mary during his junior year to learn about other opportunities in the field due to her expertise in STEM. She met with him several times to mentor and help him explore opportunities beyond high school offerings as he began his college career. His is just one example of how Mary works with students. She mentors and provides many opportunities for students and fosters growth in many ways including sponsoring students for the annual Cyber Security Summit held in the Twin Cities each October and guiding students through the college application process. She has dedicated personal time and resources to go above and beyond for students and the school district. Having been an educator in PLSAS schools for 17 years and having two children attend PLSAS K-12, I have attended and viewed many school board meetings. Mary asks the important and tough questions to make sure the district is true to the community and its values while keeping students at the forefront of all decisions. As a staff and community member, we feel Mary truly listens to concerns and works to create solutions that are beneficial for all. We strongly support Mary Franz for PLSAS school board. Mary Frantz is a brilliant independent person who has dedicated so much of her life to the PLSAS school district. She is not even accepting campaign donations, instead asking people to donate directly to helping our schools instead. Please vote for Mary. I know her personally and I promise you-she is amazing and sought after for her caring thoughtful expertise by students, parents and staff/ teachers in our district.. She does what best for all of our families.

Brian Hughes

I have known Mary Frantz for nearly 20 years. First as a contractor/employee and then as a friend, colleague, and advisor. She is well respected on a global scale due to her intelligence, strategic wisdom, but mostly her integrity. She is tough, she is a "thinker", and weighs pros and cons of every decision in a way that is awe inspiring. When she first hired me as a software engineer, I was observing her leading a team to determine new methods of CAD product design, one of the other VPs watching Mary on the white board drawing then inputting the design using Solid Works to create a prototype - viewed all the male engineers in the room, leaned over to me and whispered, "She's challenging them, she's going to make them better engineers, she's going to make them better men at the end of this week. You just watch." He then added sarcastically, "watching their faces and seeing her explain the egress BOM based upon their input is like Einstein teaching a dogs to drive and actually succeeding." She is a natural educator and a consummate learner, reader. What I love most is that she disagrees with respect, she investigates, and she is humble. In her company leadership, she ALWAYS gives credit to her staff and never takes it for herself. However, she does not suffer fools well. One thing she is known for is being direct and wholly intolerant of unethical behavior and political games. She does not tolerate fools at all, which is the only fault I can see. If you start with a conspiracy theory she will shut you down and ask to speak in facts and evidence. Most people I know who have worked with her value her intellect, her honesty and her thoughtful convictions. She received the highest ranking of all professors at the UofM and Cyber4Heros and still receives accolades from past students and other professors. I don't know where she finds the time to do all that she does, but our community, our students, and everyone who has the opportunity to work with her is better for it.

Teddie Lehmann

I first worked with Mary in a professional setting, and have since come to know her as a person. While our views do not always align, I have found her willingness to listen to other opinions and gather data to drive her decisions refreshing. Mary brings a unique perspective thanks to her career in information technology, forensics and cybersecurity, which gives her knowledge of how students’ needs have and will continue to evolve in our ever-changing technology driven world. She has been a business leader, a mentor, and provided free seminars for the public on how social media affects our students, and how parents can help guide kids’ use of social media. Schools build our future leaders, and I am confident Mary would be an excellent voice for students, parents, and teachers.

Jeff Yost

Mary has been an amazing advocate for the students and staff of PLSAS. I have been fortunate to work directly with her through the years as she tirelessly promotes computer science, technology and all STEM related fields. Being a computer science teacher at the HS, I have had Mary in my classroom informing the students of the many avenues available to them in the field of computing. Showing them first hand the tools used to fight cyber attacks. She provides a priceless opportunity for the students to experience the profession long before they get there. The motivation and guidance I have heard her share is invaluable. We are lucky to have her working with, and for, our students!
